weird Firefox crash... possibly related to certain foreign characters?
i've been experiencing crashes for a couple of weeks now when attempting to open certain pages. this problem only occurred recently. i have 2 Windows user profiles...when using Firefox on the other Windows profile, i don't encounter the crash. i think it might be related to certain foreign or alt characters, like those found in the Czech language, for example.
one place it happens is at Youtube. it doesn't crash on all links, but on some which have a title and description in Czech. so, i'll search for a particular video, and the results page will come up...i've found that clicking on video links with titles and\or descriptions containing the letter "E" with a circumflex over top will result in Firefox closing suddenly. a dialog box comes up asking if i want to report the crash and restart Firefox. there was even one Youtube link in particular where all i did was hover the mouse pointer over it (didn't click on anything), and the crash happened. i tested it several times, and the crash happened each time.
i've started Firefox with add-ons as well as hardware acceleration disabled, and the problem is still present.
i've added some images...
this sounds crazy, haha. does anyone know what could be going on?

i decided to try a refresh of Firefox, and the problem is now gone.
i did notice something else after the refresh. i'd previously used an add-on which let me change the UI font for Firefox. after FF changed to Quantum, that add-on became disabled and listed under "legacy extensions". despite that, the UI font i'd chosen still remained. after doing this refresh, that change is no longer present, and the UI now has the default Windows font (Segoe UI font).
