Firefox is running multiple (5-7) "PID Processes" when viewed in Task Manager 60%Processor 48% Phys Mem

Ive read responses where its said normal for Firefox to run multiple processes but even in Firefox safe mode its running anywhere from 5-7 PID Processes and both physical memory and processor power seems to be getting 50% or more used with 1 or 2 tabs open. This is happening in safe mode and much worse in normal mode with 3 basic extensions running. Citrix, AdBlock, ScreenShot and WebX which are disable in Safemode. It seems way to many resources are being used for simple browsing. I can' do a screen shot because its disable but as I'm writing this the CPU usage jumped to 60% and 45% physical memory.

It's normal to have Firefox run multiple processes. For performance and security purposes, Firefox splits different sections into its own process. For example, each website may have it's own process and the main Firefox program will also have it's own.

If you want to see exactly what is using up your memory, I'd recommend checking the Firefox Task Manager. This builtin feature in Firefox will give you a breakdown of exactly what tabs and add-ons are using your memory.

I'd also recommend reviewing the following documents to see if they have any helpful tips for you:

The amount of resources that Firefox will use varies based on the specs of your system. Right now, my Firefox browser is idling at 400MB with 5 processes on a system with 8GB of RAM. This, I've found, is usually considered a normal amount.

Hope this helps.
