Site asks me to disable Ad Blocker
Ever notice that the sites that insist on the user disabling Ad Blocker to continue browsing are the ones that run 20 flash ads at the same time? Not to mention the half GB of content it seems that they download on every click?
Here's just one egregious example: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7919337/Last-flight-Wuhan-Everyone-wearing-masks.html
When I disabled my Ad Blocker, CPU usage went to 98% and the page froze my browser.
How do you guys deal with sites like these? Do they realize that this "heavy-handed" approach is counterproductive?

Hi elzach, It all depends on the blockers that you use. I just visited Dailymail and I didn't get any request to turn off my adblocker. Apparently, I'm blocking those, too.
That's interesting. Which ad blocker do you use?
I use: Firefox Enhanced Tracking Protection set to Custom:
- all 3rd party cookies
- tracking in all windows
- cryptominers
- fingerprinters
AdBlocker Ultimate w/ 4 filters
- English
- Malware domains
- Peter Lowe's
- AdBlock Protector List
Privacy Badger Privacy Possum and Malwarebytes Browser Guard
It takes some investment of time to set everything up, especially with Privacy Badger but, when your finished - it's smooth sailing.

And with the extension Chameleon it's better than using a VPN.
