I can only see 4 passwords in my firefox lockwise yet when I go to any website that I previously logged into in the past few years, it logs in just fine.

Where is firefox getting these passwords from and why are they not showing in lockwise?

Out of curiosity, does setting the signon.management.overrideURI preference on the about:config page to empty give you the ability to view the logins and passwords using the previous Firefox password manager instead of Firefox Lockwise?

NOTE: This isn't a permanent solution to the problem, just a troubleshooting step. Eventually, the old password manager may be removed from Firefox and fully replaced with Firefox Lockwise, so you should reset the signon.management.overrideURI preference back to it's default value when you are done testing.

I'd also be interested to see if you get any error messages in the Browser Console when you attempt to open Firefox Lockwise.

If you press the menu button on Firefox (the three lines) and select Tools and Browser Console, that will open the appropriate window. This is the window where the majority of warnings and error messages from Firefox are sent.

Depending on how long you have had Firefox open, there may be a few things displayed in the window, which is normal. If you press the trash can icon in the top-left of the window, that will clear previous messages from the website.

Once the window is cleared, try opening Firefox Lockwise. If any errors or other messages are printed in that window, post a screenshot to this thread.

These messages can usually provide a lot more information on exactly what's going wrong.

Hello Wesley, thanks for replying.

I've actually tried the "signon.management.overrideURI" tip a few hours ago and it did not change the situation.

Tried to be very careful only to fire up the lockwise (Had to hit trash several times until I managed to do just that and got the below responses.

Error: Can't find profile directory. XULStore.jsm:66:15 Error: Can't find profile directory. 2 XULStore.jsm:66:15

Did this 3 times to sure that this was the only response.

Funny thing is that the current profile is in use, last used items are date stamped to today and all files are there that I can find, everything else is working so I know the directory is at least correct.

My profile is NOT on the boot drive, that is left for windows. Maybe that's the problem, I don't know. Everything else works.

D:\bangf\Internet Profiles\Firefox\

Kind regards.

I was looking over your original question and I think maybe I misunderstood it.

You don't have a problem with passwords that you are attempting to save not showing up on Firefox Lockwise, like I originally thought. Your question sounds like a general question about why your accounts are still logged on after you close Firefox.

Does that sound more accurate?

The error message you see could be related to a problem with storage.

Did you ever use this profile with a developer version ?

Is dom.storage.next_gen set to false (default) on the about:config page ?
