auto check email every 10 minutes with pop3 and no extensions.
I would like to auto download email every 10 minutes. This option is greyed out for some reason with pop3.
There is a filter option that says "fetch from pop server" that I have set to run every 10 minutes, but it does not seem to do anything.
I have a very high threat model and really, really want to avoid using imap and extensions. please advice on how to get email periodically without imap or extensions.

Any updates or help? I am tired of manually clicking "get messages". I want to pull my email from the server with thunderbird every 10 minutes.

As it is automatic of everyone else you are ask for a difficult thing. That the option to change it would be greyed out makes it sound like you do not have sufficient network privileges. or Thunderbird is not actually installed, but running from the temp folder.

I am not sure what you mean by "automatic of everyone else". Its my email account. I administer the local network.
as for not actually installed, possibly? I use a tails, a live linux distrobution based on debian 10. I 'm pretty sure its installed though. I assumed that thunderbird out of the box just does not do schedualed emails with pop

Could this be an issue with riseup (my email provider?)

I just tested with new thunderbird install on vanilla debian 10 and the option is not greyed out. Hm, is there an about.config option I need to switch somewhere?
