Default setting: HOME page on start-up
Recent changes seem to ignore the setting for a specific HOME page upon START-UP. Right now, the last page accessed before closing Firefox IS loading - not the setting of a specific HOME page - in my case, Google.com. I have cleared cache twice and no changes. So, e.g. - if I was on Facebook and close FF, the next start of Firefox opens now to Facebook. That setting is NOT enabled! Please advise/correct.

Do you have enabled "Restore Previous Session" in "Settings -> General -> Startup" ?
You can set this pref on the about:config page to set the startup page, use '0' (zero) to start with a blank page and use '1' to start with the homepage.
- browser.startup.page
[0:blank; 1:home page; 2:last visited page; 3:restore previous session]
There is no 'browser.startup.page' line item in my configuration settings. There are others, about 'startup,' but not that specific line item.
Oh - and in regular settings routine - the box is UNchecked.

You can inspect and modify prefs like this one on the about:config page.
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".
Yup. Been there, done that. Already seeing ALL the settings line items. None as described above.
