Both HAD many messages, but now in one of these for example the PROPERTIES tool shows it has 5643 messages, 59.2Mb but the folder is empty on screen!!! If I look in the Mail/Inbox folder that is correct, so how can I get them back and see them please?

  • Right click on folder and select Properties
  • click on 'Repair Folder' and then click on 'OK'

Do you have these settings:

  • View > Folders > All
  • View > Threads > All

Maybe you have a filter operating? Check the Quick Filter Bar to see if any icons are highlighted - if yes, then select them to uncheck.

For effected folder.. if you select the folder - on the right where you would expect to see list of emails, what do you see ? Post an image.

Do you see all the column headers or are they missing ? If you click in an area where you expect a list of emails, does an email magically appear in the lower Message Pane - as if you have an invisible list ? TRy this: The icon to the right which allows you to select various column headers - hover over it and it says 'Select column s to display' - click on that icon and select 'Restore column order'

Thanks Toad-Hall, I had tried the REPAIR option, waiting several minutes but no change. However, you two VIEW suggestions hit the spot: it was the THREADS View that was not checked as ALL> Many thanks for your prompt help, and you have a restful Christmas!
