How do I stop video judder in zoom mode? When I zoom in on a page (moderately, 115% or so) the video lags and bounces severely while scrolling, this doesn't happen when the zoom is at it's default level. The problem is that level is too small for me. What's strange is this doesn't happen in IE8. How can I maintain a moderate zoom level and keep fluid video? I tried to use a zoom extension and got the same results. I also tried messing with the scrolling feature but that didn't work either.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

I use the zoom feature.

User Agent

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1)

IE has Firefox beat hands-down in that area, IMO. IE8 has its' zoom controls built-in, unlike Firefox where you need to install an addon to be able to have a "proper" global zoom.

See if this helps that issue. Open the NoSquint Global Settings > Zooming tab, and see if you have Full Page Zoom selected. And if you have to zoom many pages you view, you should set a Default full page zoom level of 115%, so you don't have to zoom a page when a plugin is already running a presentation on that page.

I have both NoSquint and Default FullZoom Level extensions installed in separate Profiles to test them (personally, I changed the resolution on my widescreen LCD monitor so I don't have to zoom everything), and I have noticed similar quirks when changing the zoom level on some media rich web pages. IMO, the trick is to have the zoom level set before the page is loaded or you're liable to have problems when you change the zoom level on pages with presentations already running fro plugins.

Thanks for the advice but the problem persists, I set the global settings to 110 and 115 which didn't help the bouncing/video lag. I played with the fonts and adjusted them to 18 which helped a bit but it's not a true fix. To be honest if Firefox doesn't fix this I'll just wait for IE9 which is sure to be faster than IE8 and has better zoom control. I REALLY hope FF addresses this, I love this browser but it's pretty useless if I can't see what I'm doing, and If I do zoom I'm treated to poor video response. Not good.
