How to get rid of Firefox Getting Started page on startup???
When I start FF8.0 I get a FF Getting Started page on top of my home page. How do I get rid of it? I have tried a number of different home pages with the same results. If I change the home page to blank I only get the FF page.

MarkLasby is right :)
u must remove "user.js"
you can find it in C:\Documents and Settings\user\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
i think there is another folder after profiles, so you may fin it in there

See these articles for some suggestions:

I solved my problem by deleting the following files from my profile: user.js prefs-1.js prefs.js sessionstore.js It looks like one of these files had a corrupt line in it. I did not bother to figure out which file or which line. prefs.js and sessionstore.js were recreated when I started FF. user.js was not.

I have tried the solution posted by billylopez endorsing MarkLasby. It does not work for me. Is it because I have Windows XP rather than some other operating system. My system does not recognize the path given by billylopez and a search using Windows Explorer fails to find any file that includes the characters "user.js". Any additional suggestions? Thanks in advance. Bill Widnall
I searched C\Document and Settings\(your user account name) for user.js. deleted all versions of the file found in the C\Document and Settings\(your user account name)\Mozilla\Foxfire\Profiles folder. No More Mozilla page at startup. Thanks Mozilla support for making this so much harder than it needed to be Note I am using XP Pro.
billylopez posted a path that is a mixture of XP (Documents and Settings) and Vista/Windows 7 (user\AppData\Roaming\), so it won't work on any platform.
Use this instead to go to the profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
- XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
- Vista/Windows 7: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
- Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.
yes sorry guys I should have posted that I use Win 7 :)
