I do not understand your answer, what arrow, and where did you change it.
Since it involves clicking on a bookmark is the arrow the cursor?
Might not matter but where was the bookmark and how were you viewing it -- Menu, sidebar, library.

If your computer mouse is equipped with a scroll wheel you will be able to successfully open links as well as links from menu items (i.e. including items from the Bookmarks menu entry) into a new tab.
Simply hover the link and push down on the scroll wheel. I use this feature countless times a day. If you do not have a scroll wheel on your computer mouse you can push down the Ctrl key while clicking on the link with your left mouse button (or the one you are using as the Primary mouse button).

Actually, you are perfectly able to open up a Bookmark in a new tab by highlighting the entry and using the following key combination: Ctrl + Enter.
So, to navgiate to your Bookmarks without using your computer mouse you press Alt and then use the arrow keys to navigate to the Bookmarks drop down menu. Again, use the arrow keys to highlight the entry in question and then use the Ctrl + Enter key combination to open up the page in a new tab.
In regards to using a computer mouse with two buttons only: there simply is no easy way about it than to right-click on the entry and choosing to Open in a New Tab.

You can have your search results and your search hits open in a new tab, which helps a lot.
For use on other pages, you can create/use a keyword shortcut to open all links on a page into a new tab, see "NT:" in
