I am afflicted by the dreaded mystart search engine
Some time ago I downloaded incredimail, and Mystart hitched a ride, both of them were not up to it, so i deletd them, I thought, evr since then Mystart keeps hijacking my firefox pages. I have tried deleting firefox and reinstating it, I have tried options home page etc, i have tried regedit, and last of all, i have tried aboutconfig, and when i do that mystart search page appears and hijacks the operation,so i cannot use that option, I have tried everything to rid of the damn mystart, which quite frankly isnt up to much, I am 70 years old and self taught, self taught to do everything except to get rid of mystart, please please pwease , can anyone help me get rid of this hijacker, as I said , it,s not up to much , except to hijack, anmd at that it could give lessons, Oh I also have macafee, and crap cleaner. I run a 12 month old compaq with windows 7

Make sure that you place a colon in about:config

Thank you, a wealth of information, none of whcch pertains to my particular problem.Yes I did put the colon in the aboutconfig, that was just done for the sake of brevity. The first thing I tried was the incredimail suggestion, it,s as tho I never entered a correction! Yes I,ve tried starting in safe mode, and it keeps resurreceting itself, any further suggestions that I can try!
Did you do a search on the about:config page for the Mystart site that you get?
