There are a lot of benefits to running the latest version of Firefox. I'd take a look at this knowledge base article with details on spoofing your user agent first. If that doesn't work, you might want to consider running the older version on on a USB Stick with PortableApps. That way you'll still be able to run the latest version for your day to day activities.

It is probably not the new version of Firefox that is causing your problems, but the fact that you have no Java and an old version of Flash.

Go to www.java.com, and download and install the latest version of Java onto your computer. After doing that, also update your flash by downloading http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_plugin_32bit.exe and running that on your Pc as well.

With these (pogo requires Java and by not having it you won't be able to play games) you should be able to use Pogo just fine and still have firefox 11 with all the latest Security features.
