why is firefox crashing all the time when i set google as my homepage

I started up my pc this morning and when i went to launch firefox it would crash right off the bat. I un-installed it and re-installed it and still had same issue but i noticed that it was after i set my homepage to google and then firefox kept crashing everytime untill i went back to default homepage and i have had no problem as of yet.

this started happening to me today as well, managed to find a temporary fix, as soon as you load up the page hit the stop button it will stop the page from loading

That is likely a problem with the Olympic doodles that Google is currently using on its main search pages.\n It is probably easiest to choose a different home page like about:home or use the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar to initiate the searches for now.

For anyone Affected by this issue, Google has corrected this issue on their homepage. While a Firefox fix will still be coming shortly, for now you can set google as your homepage again if you so desire.
