does FF browser work in LINUX and UBUNTU OS
I tried ZORIN version 6.2. Which I understand is a LINUX OS. FF is in the download center along with OPERA. FF did NOT install. "FF IS BROKEN". OPERA did. I am trying two more open source OSs, LINUX/UBUNTU? What do I need to do to make sure FF IS installed from the download center? Or will there be a built in browser either on the desktop, under the MENU, or in the download center? From there how do I create or move the icon to the desktop? Is the FF installed one of your current versions? 18 or 19? Is it set up the same way as it is in WINDOWS. Can I then open it from the desktop and then download the rest of my programs from it? Including OPERA, IE8, and SLIM BROWSER, word processing, scanning, printers, and more? Just like WINDOWS. WINDOWS can remain alongside LINUX or LINUX alone. Should I ADD LINUX? In this case I could use windows as a back up and uninstall LINUX if need be.

Hello,
Firefox should work on most of the Linux distributions that you get, and all the major ones probably come with a browser.
Firefox is the default web browser on Ubuntu, and should come pre-installed. The version of Firefox that comes installed in Ubuntu is compiled by them and not an official version. It works fine, and is probably better optimized for their system, but you can download an official version from here.
Ubuntu has a built in software center, and you should be able to download a lot of your programs off of there. You can download software that is not on the store with Firefox, but you may have to compile it yourself if a package is not supplied.
Whether you should use Linux is entirely up to you. Depending on the distribution, Linux can be a little hard to use if you are not a computer geek. Ubuntu is pretty intuitive though, and I have heard that they have a nice Knowledge Base. It may be a good idea to install it along-side of Windows until you are comfortable with it.

According to Distrowatch, Zorin 6.2 comes with Firefox 20, there is no need to install Firefox yourself.

Also, most of your questions about Zorin should be addressed to Zorin Support, as they don't relate to Firefox.
As far as installing IE8, that isn't possible. Microsoft doesn't make a version of IE for any non-Windows Operating Systems; a version for Linux never existed and Mac support ended with IE6.

Ed, the mention of Firefox 20.0 on left was just to show what is the current release of Firefox at time, not what the last OS version comes with including 6.2. Look at the other packages on the packages list and follow along from left to right to see what I mean on the versions.
Zorin OS Lite 6.2 Is Based on Lubuntu 12.04.2 LTS from what I see in a bit of searching.
I think you may be able to boot Zorin 6.2 up off dvd in Live mode in trying it out however running Linux distros this way can be a bit unstable or rather noticeably slower than running it as a install.
