For the passwords you need to copy the signons.sqlite and key3.db files from that drive to the current Firefox program folder.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

You can't use %APPDATA% to access the profile folder on a drive that is not the current Windows System drive.

The "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and later Window 7+ versions and the "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K are hidden folders.

hello, do you have access to the file-system of your prior harddrive or the passwords that you have exported?

If your hard drive isn't damaged and you haven't deleted anything from it, you should be able to restore your passwords.

The passwords are stored within the "key3.db" and "signons.sqlite" files in your firefox profile. All you need to do is copy them from the old profile to the new one. You can also regain your other settings this way. For more info, read:

I also recommend installing this addon:

LastPass is much more secure than the FF's manager, and you'll always be able to recover your passwords with it.

@ Grad Where can I Find these 2 keys in the old Hard Disk ?? I Tried to search for them , yet I Couldn't find them

I'm not sure how Windows 8 works exactly, but in Windows 7 you'd either click [Start] and type "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\" in the search area, or open Window Explorer and type it in the "address bar".

By default, firefox profile folder should be inside of:

  • C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[alphanumeric-string].default

[alphanumeric-string] will look more or less like this: dfl5k3u. Making the your old firefox profile folder "dfl5k3u.default".
