I have 2 PCs, one with FF 29.0.1 and one with the previous version.

Since the update to 29.0.1 i have a login issue specific to eBay on this PC, but there is no problem at all on the PC with the previous version.

I auto-login to ebay on both PCs, they are set to save password etc.

If I am on my Selling page, already logged in, and go to revise something (or do anything "important") eBay asks me to log in again, as they should.

Both PC's already have the username and password filled in, so I just need to press "Sign in"

The "older version" PC logins in immediately on pressing that...

The 29.0.1 version now circles immediately back to the same login page, it "goes somewhere" but immediately returns, and I'm not fast enough to see the page it goes to before resuming "please sign in"...

I have to clear the caches/cookies etc manually, (the "automatically clear on exit" setting does NOT do the job) and try it a couple of times until I go back to the ebay page and then it works fine... until the next time I turn the PC on...

I only have this issue on ebay, and only on this PC since the upgrade of FF, there are no new addon/plugins or other progams installed on this PC except for the FF upgrade.

I find it odd that only one webpage would be stupid while on 29. To rule out any conflicting extensions, can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:

  • Windows/Mac: Go to Help > Restart with add-ons disabled
  • Linux: Run firefox -safe-mode in the Terminal/Konsole

If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • The image "new fx menu" does not exist. > Options/Preferences> Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • The image "new fx menu" does not exist. > Options/Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

I can try that tomorrow, but I have very few addons installed at all.

..and I can confirm that I have not changed/installed any addons since the update... and this problem started that day...

No other "logins" on that PC cause any issues at all, and I have no other issues on that browser anywhere...

The other PC runs eBay perfectly fine, which is on FF 28.0.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

  • Clear the Cache

Press the <Alt> or <F10> key to bring up the tool bar. Then; Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: Clear Now

and

  • Remove Cookies

Press the <Alt> or <F10> key to bring up the tool bar. Then Tools > Options > Privacy.

Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. There is a button on the right side called Show Cookies.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode; Press the <Alt> or <F10> key to bring up the tool bar.. Then Tools > Options > Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart
