I too want to see the full email address in the "From" column without opening each email. This, I would have thought, was a basic need as, like lots of others on the forums, I have a number of people of the same name, and there are LOTS of people called "sales"!!!

   Why is this so hard?
Many people are asking for it.

I have tried "show_address_only" and "Disable_you". Neither work as I want. On this iMac, I'm running Thunderbird 11.0 and OSX 10.9.3. Many times I need to see who the emails are from, and can only do that if I open them, only to find more SPAM.

PLEASE put this basic "feature" in, and maybe make it an option to turn it off if required.

There should not need to be an add-on to do this! It should be a basic requirement.

It worked this time when I figured out it had to be also selected with the little square button on the far right, seen now at the end of the "Sender[@]" heading. https://support.cdn.mozilla.net/media/uploads/images/2014-06-17-05-15-16-8db17d.png
