If I'm watching a video, whether it's YouTube, Facebook, a news website, anything...if I close the tab without pausing/stopping the video first, the audio will continue to play through to the end. Sometimes I have tried to reopen the page. In that case, the video will start playing again, but the old audio still continues and plays over itself. Very annoying.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;

Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences

Then Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Then restart.
