How do I change my search bars BACK to Google?
My homepage is set to default and my new tab page has a search bar also. Both of these used to be Google search bars, but now, without me changing any settings (as I'm aware), they are Yahoo.
I've looked for how to fix this, but Firefox Help only tells you how to change the dumb mini search bar (which I don't use), not these other two.

The search engine that is selected in the Search Bar will be used on the default Start Page, on the New Tab page, in the Location Bar, and with the Context menu search item, and well as the Search Bar.

It sounds like you have a third party program that has taken over your search engine, home page, and/or the default new tab page. Fortunately, this can be remedied easily
Follow the numbered steps only if an extra toolbar has been installed (might be a good idea to check your extensions anyways in case something managed to sneak its way in).
- Click the menu button and choose Add-ons.
- In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions panel.
- Select the toolbar you wish to remove.
- Click the Remove button.
- Click "Restart now" if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.
Install the Search Reset Tool. This will remove the rest of the traces of this program from your Firefox.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

If you do not keep changes after a restart or otherwise have problems with preferences, see:

This fixed the problem.
Honestly, there should be some information about this for people like me who don't use that mini search bar, because, really, it's a ridiculously simple fix, but you wouldn't know it from any Firefox FAQs or Troubleshooting...
