How do I remove ask.com from mozilla?

more options

Ask.com gives these directions:

"First make sure you don't have the Ask Toolbar installed, as it may cause the homepage to revert to Ask. You can find this toolbar in your Firefox Extensions. In the upper right corner of your Firefox windows there should be an icon with three horizontal lines stacked up. Click those three lines, then from the menu that appears, click Add-ons. Once you have the Add-ons screen up, click Extensions on the left hand side. Then look through your extensions for the Ask Toolbar and remove it. You may still need to change your homepage once you have removed those programs, which you can do by following the instructions below."

But I can't get to a Firefox window from ask.com.

hello tkeithdixM, you appear to be using a very outdated and insecure firefox version. first please download the latest version of the browser (you can do so at https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/) and install it as soon as possible.

afterwards try to reset firefox and see if this can address the issue...
