I've had Firefox working greatly for about 18 months. I have Windows 7 as my OS. Suddenly when I click on the Firefox icon to open I get the simple message "Couldn't Load XPCOM" and that's it. No Firefox. Help appreciated.

Download Firefox from here - http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html - and reinstall it over your current installation. The fresh installation should pickup your existing Profile folder, that has all your data.
