Hi,

I had a go at doing it on my tablet and it says it is synced, but nothing has migrated over from my laptop to my tablet, I must be doing it wrong.

The other thing I am trying desperately to do as I have hypersensitivity to bright light and so need the background colours set to somehing like grey (not bright white!)on all websites. I can do this easily on desktop firefox via tools - options - content- colours and then tick or untick the box and it REALLY does help. Not sure how I do this on firefox for android on my tablet I have just purchased as replacement for my laptop, but I remember someone on here saying that you can when I asked before.

Hope you can explain how and I would be ever so grateful if you could.

Thanks, Tim

Hello Tim,

This article will walk you through adding a second device (computer, Android phone or Android Tablet.) to your Firefox Sync account.

Add a device to Firefox sync

This should help with changing the color options like on the desktop :)

To change the text size to grey and make sure web pages can't override your choice, you'd need to:

1. Open Firefox on your tablet and go to about:config 2. Use the search box at the top right to find browser.display.background_color and change it to your preferred shade of grey. You can use a hex code to specify your colour, or add it by name. A good hex code for grey would be '#cccccc'. Or try something darker, like the word 'grey'. 3. You also need to find browser.display.use_document_colors and change it to 'false'.

Hope this helps, please let us know, Thanks!

Hello,

the link above "add a device to firefox sync" when I click on it it says page not found.

But the bigger problem I have is still in following the instructions given to set the background colours. when I follow the steps given I end up on this page which seems to just be telling me how to do this on desktop firefox which I already know how to do.I am needing to do this on my tablet with firefox for android and on mine when you click on tools there is no optons then content tab like on my firefox desktop browser/ Here is the page where I am at and currently stuck

HI Tim,

Sorry - the instructions are quite complicated. Thanks for your patience.

I've made a video recording of changing the background colours here: https://jlbs.me.uk/shared/firefox-android-background.webm

I hope it makes things a little clearer. You could try watching the video on your PC while following the steps on your tablet.

Regarding the hex code: these codes are what Firefox uses to show you a particular colour. The code #CCCCCC is a code for light grey. You can see in the video that I've typed the #CCCCCC code in - but at this point you could a different code if you wanted a lighter or darker shade of grey. Use the code #DCDCDC for a lighter grey or #808080 for darker grey.

Hope it helps,

Jayelbe
