Thinking that resetting Windows 10 would retain ALL my files, I was upset to find that many apps and all Thunderbird contacts and emails were missing. I had many years of emails filed appropriately and now they are gone. Is there any hope of restoring them? Firefox reinstalled with all my bookmarks intact, but that doesn't help the situation with Thunderbird. Help would be sincerely appreciated.

I should add that I've gone to windows.old, but there is no Thunderbird app files there at all.

That would have been the place to look for the profile. If it's not there, then I don't know either.

What I really don't understand is why people don't bother to create a backup of important data prior to doing disruptive things.
