Why does Firefox not return to the previous location on the Fox News home page when I read an article and then go back to Fox News Home page?

When I select an article from FoxNews.com and go to that article, then I hit the back button in the FireFox browser, it takes me back to the top of the FoxNews home page - not the place where I left off. No other browser does this - only Firefox. What's wrong?

When you follow a link, and then go back, the page may have been reloaded. This loses your place. I get around this by; Right-click the link and select Open In New Tab/Window. Once you are done, close that tab/window, and you are back where you started.

You can even do this with links from the new pages.

Thanks FredMcD. That works for me....it's a little unfortunate because IE and Chrome don't work this way on this website. Not sure what the hitch is for FF. But I'll take your suggestion. I do that when I think of it but forget it sometimes. Thanks again.

I have this problem unfortunately with Google which I use extensively! Opening a link in a new Tab is what I do sometimes, but I don't consider it a solution! IE (and Chrome as stated above) does not behave this way with Google. So, this is clearly a Mozilla Firefox problem. So, I -- and all Firefox users fo, I believe -- would like to know the reason why this is happening (with Firefox and not with other browsers) and why it can't be resolved. (Note: I'm using Firefox version 51.0.1 but this problem is carried on from quite long ago.)

Google search pages have their own setting for tab / new window / "same" in Google+ options.

OK, but the question is why this phenomenon does not happen with Internet Explorer and Google Chrome???
