Seriously... Thunderbird 2.0. You and about 6 other people still use it. Do we remember where options were or on what menus? for a few things.

I see you are using Windows 10, why not Thunderbird 45?

If you accounts are pop.

Close Thunderbird Windows key +R Type %appdata%\Thunderbird\profiles\ and press enter Use the windows explorer to open the profile folder and then the mail folder. Open your server folder and delete the file popstate.dat. Restart Thunderbird

That will re-download all mail that is held on the server. There is no way to pick what you want to get it is all or nothing.

tried deleting it 3 times keeps coming back

Sure does come back but in betwen times it downloads all mail that is in the inbox on the server. If it does not get any old mail. There is none in he inbox there to get.
