Hej,

Since a few weeks now my browsing history seems to have disappeared on a few occasions. By browsing history I mean, the suggested websites in the adres bar, the recently visited websites when opening a new tab and even the password and username to some but not all websites. I haven't disabled history settings or cookies, in other words the 'saving history' box is selected. Why is this and/or what could this point towards?

Kind regards,

Maarten

Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. Is everything still there?

History and cookies can be removed or not recorded several ways;

  • 1) Running Firefox in Private Mode (nothing is recorded)
  • 2) Privacy settings; (Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar.)
  • 3) Many disk cleaners and anti-virus type programs can remove data from browsers. Open their settings and have them leave the browsers alone.
  • 4) Mal-ware.
