working on iMac, poof- Firefox icon disappeared from dock. Tried a couple suggestions, including restart, but all bookmarks, default settings are gone. Original (2013) Firefox still in Library/Application Support.

How to restore all the bookmarks etc. and keep Mozilla in dock safely? Thank you for help.

Note that you can try the Firefox 45 ESR version on Mac OS X 10.6 instead of the Firefox 25 version that shows in the system details.

Download a new copy of the Firefox application and save the Disk Image file to the desktop Firefox 45.5.1 ESR:


Your personal data like bookmarks is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data when you uninstall and reinstall or update Firefox, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
