During "streaming video" the system hangs and crashes constantly. If I pause playback for 5 minutes or more, when I resume playback again I can watch for a few minutes and then it will crash. When I am streaming along without pausing, it will just stop everything and crash. It posts the message "a network error has caused the download to fail partway". (This is the hang part) I have run all the troubleshooters, updates and everything I can think of, What is giving me the error message, and what is causing the crashes?

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

I found all of my hundreds of unsubmitted crash reports, but I cannot find my original question to post the crash list to. I cannot find advice for exactly that in the forum, either Thanks for your help. Lynda

Please : go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security panel and under Permissions check (put a tick in the box) the setting to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.

Monitor in Task Manager. Should stay below 2 gigs. If excessive then do below and monitor and change if need to...Test and go up again , go back down, it will eventually get a zone you and it can live with.

Go to the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 Restart Firefox after making these changes please.

Note : Hardware Acceleration is for Video Card, Monitor to see if remain off or to turn back on.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Nope, Please reread how to submit as have to start with bp- as a URL https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-asking-support

more options

I cannot submit the crash list per your specs: none of my hundreds of crashes begins with "bp"

more options

If a line on the about:crashes page doesn't start with "bp-" then click the line to submit the report and the link will be updated and gets a "bp-" prefix if the report is submitted successfully.

  • please do not add the "bp-" prefix yourself

Note that older reports have been purged from the crash server.
