Hi HenRea.

The file only contains the built-in Firefox page, but it's not a backup of your preferences.

Is there some problem you would like to solve by accessing the saved file?

Michael, thank you for your response!

O, i thought it was a backupfile. In which file are the preferences kept?

more options

All the Firefox data and preferences are kept in a so called profile. However it's a not good idea to manipulate with the profiles manually unless you really know what you are doing. What in particular would you like to achieve?

The privacy settings.

You want to make a backup, set it on your other computer the same way, or something else?

more options

A lot of Firefox settings including changes made via Options/Preferences are stored in prefs.js in the profile folder.

There is not much to read in this file and you should be cautious with restoring this file.

I want to use different profiles for business and private. Have now discovered that that also goes with the profile manager.

Now I have to have something to start the different versions. Maybe something with a start-up parameter?
