Window is moving down.
All the sudden my websites are moving down by itself. I am using a mouse with wheel, but that is not the issue as it happens as well with the moue disconnected. Once the cursor is out of the window, the scrolling stops. Move it back in the window, the site starts scrolling down again. The laptop has a touchpad which I cleaned but the issue is still the same.
Anyone has an idea, as this is not workable. Thank you

So you mean they are self scrolling without any inputs? Are you sure the "Arrow Keys and or Page Up and Page Dwn" keys are not stuck causing it to scroll? It sounds like your keyboard is damaged or you have stuck key. Laptop are known to have this issue with stuck keys as well from lifespan usage. Also disable the touchpad and see what happens to see if the problem isn't the touchpad as well.

But how do you explain then that the window scrolls down only when the cursor is in the window itself, but NOT when the cursor is outside?

Are you familiar with the "Autoscrolling" feature? When you middle-click on the page with the mouse scroll wheel, assuming you didn't hit a link, Firefox should display a circle icon with up and down pointers. When the mouse pointer is above that circle, the page will scroll up, and when the mouse pointer is below that circle, the page will scroll down. The further the mouse pointer, the faster the scrolling.
Do you think that's what's going on? You could disable autoscrolling if you would never want Firefox to do that:
- Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
- Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
- Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
- Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it
Scroll nearly to the bottom of the page to the "Browsing" section, or in the search box at the top of the page, type scro and Firefox should filter the page to that section.
Then uncheck (clear) the checkbox for "Use autoscrolling".
The change is saved in the background so you can close this page now.
Hi jscher2000 It is not the AUTOSCROLLING either. As I said, this issue is happening as soon as the mouse cursor is inside the browser window. Also, it does the same in outlook or word. Any application really. I am not holding the mouse or clicking on anything.
But guess what, I just called Microsoft and (just like going to the dentist, the pain stops when you enter the office) the issue is gone for now. They ran some checks and can not find anything wrong. I will have to wait for it to appear again and take it from there. Thanks

In that case it sounds like a global issue rather than a Firefox setting. Hope it stays fixed.
