How can I change the spellcheck and spelling of ALL my emails to English UK instead of English US. Individual emails can be changed but I believe I can change to all outgoing emails automatically being British English spelling in spellchecks

Install the English UK dictionary:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/british-english-dictionary-2/

Drag the Download Now button and drop it onto Tools/Add-ons/Dictionaries in TB. Check that it is selected in Tools/Options/Composition/Spelling.

TB is the proper abbreviation for Thunderbird just as Fx is the proper abbreviation for Firefox and not FF as many newer Firefox users think.
