wont let me sign in when trying to sync

more options

I am trying to sync my bookmarks. When I try to sign in it tells me my password is invalid. I have to type in the same (correct) password several times to get it to accept the password. Then it says it will send an authorization code to my email. After receiving the code in email, I give the code (I copy and paste it to make sure there are no errors) and the screen reverts back to the sign in page and says "invalid password". This is a cycle that will not end. I do not want to reset my password because it says I could lose my bookmarks. This would defeat the purpose of syncing them. I am a college student and all of my research is bookmarked - years of research. I NEED my bookmarks! HELP!
