I know it is not a specific search engine, but there is still that option on my previous computer with firefox, and on google chrome. I have gone to the options and can see the various search engines, but swagbucks is not listed. nor is it on any of the "search for more search engines." I have followed the instructions on firefox on how to change search engines--again, it is just not listed. I have gone to swagbucks and followed their instructions. I have visited swagbucks; I do have the swagbutton installed. Please help.

Hi, sorry it is not a mainstream search engine it is not listed nor will ir be and is specialized for a purpose only of tracking you to make money off of you by selling your information.. You can make this page your home page if you want it : https://search.swagbucks.com/

As for the Button I have no idea how it works. Mozilla only gives permission for it to be used after it passes tests. Firefox Support does not do support for their toolbar button. http://www.swagbucks.com/extension

However, on my old computer I was able to put it as the default search engine in the search address bar and the new tab page search. Why can I suddenly not on a new computer?

Hi, grae_bird!

Swagbucks isn't really a search engine, it is a rewards and loyalty program. You install an add-on to forward the new tab page to another website like search.swagbucks.com . You can go to that page at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-override/ but if you are running older than Firefox Quantum go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-override/versions and select the one that is compatible with your Firefox version.

Maybe Swagbucks used to have a Search engine, but we can't find one now for you from the Swagbucks website. They may have changed the manner is which they operate. If that is the case, if it ain't a Search engine that Swagbucks Button extension / Add-on for Firefox won't interface with the Search Options UI in Firefox.

If you want a Search engine try one of these. http://mycroftproject.com/search-engines.html?name=Swagbucks Those search engines should interface with the Search Options UI in current versions of Firefox. I have many search engines I got from Mycroft over the years and all still work fine. So you'll have to judge for yourself about those Swagbucks search engines.

Mycroft Project was started by Mozilla years ago and was hosted & supported by Mozilla for many years, but about 5 years ago it was spun off to its own domain. "Hosting courtesy of Oregon State University Open Source Lab." which contributed to Mozilla efforts for many years for hosting a number of open source projects.
