Hello, I recently clean installed/refreshed my PC. I didn't have Flash before the refresh because I remember not being able to play a game on a site that required flash but was able to watch videos on VK. After the refresh, i can't play videos - it asks me to install Flash.

Why is this so? Any way to circumvent this without installing Flash?

Yes those are to fix audio problems -- not the sudden need of flash by VK.

Should I download the flash plugin?

Here's the thing never use beta and only go to the site to download the right plugins and from there you can let it install it automatically for the right version when installing. But you should uninstall flash and go to Adobe and get the right version again.

Or try this link to find the right one-this has worked for me without problem.

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

But these plugins issues aren't really a FF Browser end user help issue though.

edit: changed link from random third-party download site.

You can check the Web Console to see if there are media related error messages

  • "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer

You can open the YouTube test page to check support in Firefox for playing HTML5 media.

Hi, running a Beta program is possibly the reason and could change daily.

No the Beta channel builds are generally stable, more so after the first few builds. Generally a version on Beta channel can get say nine to fourteen builds though sometimes a few more of late.

If you say the 62.0b20 is unstable then you may as well be claiming the soon to be 62.0 Release is unstable at this point in time.
