v60 won't work on my computer even in safe mode for both Win and Tbird. "Unresponsive", greyed out options, can't close with "X". Win10.

Currently running v52.9 with no problems. I had to disable updates because every time my computer decided to update I couldn't run Tbird, so had to reinstall v52.9.

I think we should cross reference the bug report. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1486219

Have you tried running Thunderbird without Vipre?

This little lot makes me think the product is very similar to the malware you install it to prevent. They have a support article about it not allowing other programs to run correctly. https://support.threattracksecurity.com/support/solutions/articles/1000122894-firewall-blocks-or-prevents-an-application-from-functioning-vipre-internet-security-internet-secu

Yes, I reinstalled v60 deliberately this morning and attempted it with Vipre off. Same problems. Went back to 52.91, all is OK even with Vipre on.

I did check off the box "check before applying patches" in Vipre, thinking that might be the reason for the unwanted updates.

But the question remains: Why doesn't v60 work on my 'puter? Even with Vipre off?
