Have just "acquired" this un-invited guest which now appears when I open Firefox, and I can't find a way to remove it.

Can you please go to about:support, and then copy and paste the Extensions details here.

Okay, thanks. I may be a little tech illiterate, but I don't understand what you mean. Where can I find about:support, and what are the Extensions details? Apologies for my lack of understanding..........

Nothing seems to work. Refreshed Firefox and "anysearchmanager" went away, only to return when I opened a new window. Opened in Safe Mode, and "anysearchmanager" is still there, disabled each of the add-ons, and it's still there. Have un-installed Firefox on one of my Macs, but need it on another, so still looking for a solution. Where does "any searchmanager" hide, there seems to be limited possibilities for me to explore. Help!

Please re-install Firefox, and then download Malwarebytes from www.malwarebytes.com and download and run a scan with it.

Thanks for the response. I did this earlier on my other Mac which also has a persistent "anysearchmanager" homepage, and it came up as clean, even with the latest version of Malwarebytes. I subsequently gave up and un-installed Firefox on that machine. Will try it again on this Mac.

After you run that, please re-install Firefox (on all affected machines) then provide the troubleshooting information requested above so we can see what's going on

Tyler, thanks - have re-installed Firefox on this machine and opened and closed it many times, and it seems to be free of "anysearchmanager". Downloaded new Malwarebytes and the scan came up clean. Will rte-install on my other machine too -Fingers crossed all will be well. McCoy - thanks also, will look into that later, but now have to walk my dogs.
