I'm at a loss..Have a hardwired Dell laptop that's running FFox 52.3.0ESR same version as a desktop here( that works fine). While I can access the router(192.168.1.1) ,login, change stuff.. the Dell refuse to get to the Internet. No firewall, No antivirus, reset router, etc. Not a cabling issue(Lan connected) and remember I CAN access the router... even tried different router ports. FFox is configured the same as the desktop, same version..same options. Does anyone know what's blocking Internet access ? Any help is appreciated !! Jay

Maybe a problem with the DNS setup (192.168.1.1 is a numeric IP ? What DNS server is currently selected? Can you do a DNS lookup via the about:networking#dnslookuptool tool ? You can try to set the DNS server to Google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).

192.168.1.1 is the address of my router, I can type in name/password and change the config of the router. this works same as the other PCs I have. entering 8.8.8.8 gave a 'The connection has timed out' message whereas 'www.google.ca' gives the server not found' message. None of the internet sites I use daily connect yet I can 'connect' to the router. Cuiously my desktop has the same Firefox version(52.3.0ESR) which I believe was the last one that ran on XP and allowed a couple 'add-ons' I use. I just don't undersand why it works on a desktop and not the laptop.. same OS, same firefox, same router..... Jay
