I have Firefox installed on my laptop and my Android phone (Huawei). I am logged in to my Frefox account on both devices and have activated Sync. Nevertheless I am not connected. If I want to "add a new device" from my laptop, I have to enter my mobile number there. There I can enter what I want - the number is always "invalid"...

What to do? I'm desperate here...

That phone number is merely used to send a link to that device.

You can easily install Firefox on a device if it is currently not installed and connect to the Firefox Sync Account to start using Sync.
