IP Address Temporarily Blacklisted - Comcast
"Alert from account ****@comcast.net: Temporarily blacklisted IP Address - try again later"
"Login to server imap.comcast.net with username *****@comcast.net failed."
Two messages I get when I try to check inbox after setting up comcast email using Thunderbird. Outlook and Windows Mail did not work that is why I am attempting Thunderbird. My Outlook did work with the comcast email previously on this desktop but suddenly stopped working without giving me any notification of why. However my Gmail email account works fine with Thunderbird. Also I am able to check my comcast email via the xfinity website on my desktop.
Help! Do I just need to wait to not be temporarily blacklisted? Or is this blacklist going to last until I ask to get removed?
Comcast support was no help at. Told me to "call them team at thunderbird" which I laughed at.

Hi If that message means Comcast is blacklisting your email here are more details on all the reasons why Comcast might block email. https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/email-errors However if that means that Comcast's own servers have been blacklisted, they need to figure out why and fix their problem. Note that Xfinity webmail goes through different servers than IMAP mail, so it is possible for one to be blacklisted and the other be fine. As you found out already - Thunderbird is not the problem. Outlook and Mail also run into trouble, so the issue is not with any of your mail clients. Maybe a Comcast user forum might be more useful? Agnes
I have similar error message but its from Thunderbird saying my IP address blocked, say to see spamhaus.org and I'm lost after that. these happen to both be Comcast.net mail accounts. On another PC I check 3 comcast mail accounts (same 2 and another one) and all working fine there. any ideas? anyone go thru the de-listing an IP with spamhaus ? j
