I have followed the instructions (ALL of them) for blocking autoplay. I had autoplay blocked until this most recent update. Now, I can NOT block autoplay. Nothing works. And when I try using the page info setting changes. I follow the directions to block autoplay. There is NO 'save' option available and as soon as I close the window, it changes back.

Would someone PLEASE tell me how to fix this? Without doing any coding - I saw that solution in my search, and it is beyond my abilities. HELP!

You can look at these prefs on the the about:config page to see what settings work for you to block autoplay.

  • media.autoplay.default = 5 [0:allow;1:blockAudible;2:Prompt;5:blockAll]
  • media.autoplay.blocking_policy = 2
  • media.autoplay.allow-extension-background-pages = false
  • media.autoplay.block-event.enabled = true

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

I can't do coding - that is WAY outside of my comfort level.

Any other suggestions??
