Hi all,

I am using Firefox 106.0.5 (64 bit). I cannot copy an image from Firefox and paste on to the WhatsApp app. The following steps however work:

  • copy the image
  • paste to a document editor (MS-Word) or image editor
  • copy again
  • paste to WhatsApp

Is this an intended change?

Do you have UAC disabled and do you run Firefox as administrator ?

Issues with dragging links or images can happen if you run Firefox as administrator and made changes to the UAC settings. In that case Firefox runs with medium-integrity in Windows Explorer that doesn't allow dragging to an application or target with a higher integrity.

You can check for issues with UAC, see:

I am not running Firefox as admin. And the usage was fine till some recent time (I do not remember exactly when it stopped functioning the way it was earlier) and no change in any config in between.

My guess is that there is a bug introduced somewhere on the updates.
