Cannot get past error "Thunderbird is already running, but not responding..."
Thunderbird wouldn't statt -- I keep getting an error message that "Thunderbird is alreay running, but not responding..". Killing the Thunderbird processes in the Task Manager or restarting my computer do not reslove this problem. I had deleted the user-name/appdata/local/thunderbird and the user-name/roaming/thunderbird folders and reinstall a newly downloaded copy of Thunderbird but the problem continue to exist....
Is it possible that there there is a problem outside Thunderbird, such as a wrong enrty at the registry that cuases this problem? how do I fix it?
I am running Thunderbird on a Windows 11 Home laptop.

If you are using an antivirus program, check to see if it has the ability to bypass checking email.
