My thunderbird email account was on my old laptop and now I'm trying to get into it on a new laptop and it is asking for a password that I've forgotten and doesn't give me the option to put in a new one. What can I do to get my old email account working on my new laptop?

Is the old laptop still available? How did you transfer to new laptop?

The steps are here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer go slowly and it will work. THis is because you are copying with windows file explorer and that captures everything in the profile. Post if you have difficulties.
