Can you tell me why the OPEN A NEW TAB tab has stooped working; the File|New Tab and Ctrl+C options don't work either?

Every option to open a new tab has suddenly failed, including the New Tab option located to the right of all the open tabs; the Ctrl+C keyboard shortcut and the File|New Tab menu option. I have not knowingly made a settings change to bring this about. The only current way to open a new tab is to right-click a link on an open tab and use the Open Link in New Tab option - this works fine.

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.

There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:

Thank you Tony; little bit of confusion at first as I didn't have the Ask toolbar, then realised the problem must be the MP3 Rocket toolbar which is of course published by Ask. Uninstalled that and Firefox works fine. Thanks again.
