I need to use Firefox 6.0.2. Does Mozilla provide a download for this version? How do I prevent Firefox from being updated when I do not want the new version?

FF 6.0.2 here

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/6.0.2/

To stop automatic updates of FF

Tools>Options>Advanced>Update - Uncheck Automatically check for updates to Firefox.

But I advise you stick to with FF 7.0.1 since security issues are better fixed. Try this solution below for FF 7.0.1 and see if it solves your problem.

Type in the address bar about:config Accept the warning. In the page that appears, in the Filter box, type network.http.max-connections Change the value to 32 (which is probably set to 256 in your case). Close that page. Restart the browser.

edit: removed random unofficial download link.
