I install java 1.6.29, fedora 14 64 bits, firefox 4, firefox 5 64 bit, I already follow the instruction to create a symbolic link in firefox plugin folder to java plugin (libnpjp2.so) but when I open firefox, the java plugin still cannot be shown in addons > plugin, what is the reason? [administrator@localhost plugins]$ pwd /home/administrator/.mozilla/plugins [administrator@localhost plugins]$ ls -l total 0 lrwxrwxrwx. 1 administrator administrator 43 Nov 19 11:28 libnpjp2.so -> /usr/java/jre1.6.0_29/lib/amd64/libnpjp2.so [administrator@localhost plugins]$

OH, our company need keeping the firefox 3.5, 3.6, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0 version. So, is it possible to add java plugin in firefox 3.5, 3.6 version in 64 bit fedora 14?

If that is a 32 bit Firefox 3.6.x version then you need to make a symlink to the 32 bit libnpjp2.so plugin.
You may have to install a 32 bit Java version.

No, the Firefox is 64 bit version. I download the Fedora 64 bit in the following website 鏈結文字 then I choose 64-bit: fedora-14-x86_64.zip the firefox inside is 64 bit.

I try create a new VM with fedora 14 32bits, with default 32 bits firefox 3.6, then I download the 32bits jre1.6.0_29. then I try to link /usr/java/jre1.6.0_29/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so in the following path but all fail!! try but fail /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.2/plugins /~/.mozilla/plugins /usr/lib/firefox-3.6/plugin /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

So, in fact, is 64 bits java plugin cannot installed on 64 bits FireFox under Fedora 14 64 bits and 32 bits java plugin cannot installed on 32 bits FireFox under Fedora 14 32 bits?

You can create a plugins folder in the Firefox Profile Folder and place a symlink to the JP2 plugin in that folder.
That should work in current Firefox versions.

still fail Firefox Profile Folder is /home/administrator/.mozilla/firefox/o4ibsdm4.default then I create a plugins folder [administrator@localhost plugins]$ pwd /home/administrator/.mozilla/firefox/o4ibsdm4.default/plugins [administrator@localhost plugins]$ ls -al total 8 drwxrwxrwx. 2 administrator administrator 4096 Nov 22 05:56 . drwx------. 10 administrator administrator 4096 Nov 22 05:56 .. lrwxrwxrwx. 1 administrator administrator 42 Nov 22 05:56 libnpjp2.so -> /usr/java/jre1.6.0_29/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so [administrator@localhost plugins]$ I really don't know any other method!!
