I have examined all of my updates and the old data and exe files has been saved with different .extensions I cannot open as they were changed during the update crash. I have no Firefox icon on my desktop. I really need to restore to my last good version as it has all of my passwords and vital bookmarks and links on it. Thank you very much for your help in advance!

Hi Hyrum,

You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article Update Firefox to the latest release. There is a lot of good information in there and some troubleshooting steps as well.

If that doesn't work, you might want to try installing a fresh copy of Firefox:

http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/

I would suggest that you first back up your personal information and bookmarks, just in case. You can find details in the article Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles.

Hopefully this helps!
