Firefox won't open mailto links in a new window like it used to...it just opens gmail in the current tab.

I recently upgraded firefox and now whenever I click a mailto link it opens gmail in the current tab rather than in a new window. How can I get it to open email links in a new window.

I have no problems with version 11. My problem started with version 12 and continues with version 13 beta 1 & beta 2

Doing a Google search I see that applications using "MAILTO" option is a big problem with Firefox version 12. See http://boardreader.com/thread/Firefox_and_Email_problem_9rc6X2c9zx.html plus other.

I reload version 11 and I have no problems.

I am using Avast IAS (includes malware/firewall) on one PC & MSN MSE on another (Both windows 7 64) (both have same problem)
