Firefox REFUSES to save tabs and tabgroups on exit.

more options

I closed Firefox after yet another succesfull browsing session. Then when I opened it I only got this:

The address isn't valid

The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.

Even if I try to restore the firefox session by replacing the "sessionstore" in Appdata/roaming/Mozilla/firefox/profiles it only rewrites it to 2KB from 5138KB. It just dont want to open my tabs, and all my tab Groups have disappeared.

And no, I don't run it in Metro.

Do not use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the "Browsing History".

Did you check for recently closed tabs and windows after restoring the sessionstore.js file?

Note that this may only work with this setting:

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

For the "The address isn't valid" error, try to reset the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone pref via the right-click context menu to the default on the about:config page and close and restart Firefox to restore the about:home page to its default.

  1. Open the about:config page via the location bar
  2. Type in the Filter bar: mstone
  3. Right-click the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone line and select: Reset
  4. Close and restart Firefox

If this didn't help then delete the delete the chromeappsstore.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder and repeat the above.

Sorry, but this did not work. Same thing happens, I think I will just give it up and do a system restore. Thanks for trying ^_^

Be careful with using system restore.

Note that using System Restore can cause your Firefox installation to get corrupted because not all files are restored (only files in a white-list), so be cautious with using System Restore.
You may also lose data in the profile folder like .js and .ini files.
You may need to (re)install software that was affected.
Delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling just in case.
