My history is full of junk from the moment I launch Firefox. This includes my history for Today as soon as I launch. It shows about 100 sites I have not visited in weeks. Could it be because I have been using the Speed Dial extension? It updates the dial icons periodically. Does this affect the history? Also, I cleared my cache and my history is still full of site entries. I have today disabled Speed Dial and installed FVD Speed Dial.

Hi,

After clearing the history, please check if this happens in Safe Mode. Safe mode disables the installed Extensions, and themes (Appearance) in Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons. Hardware acceleration is also temporarily disabled - the manual setting is Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Use hardware acceleration when available. All these settings/options/add-ons can also be individually or collectively disabled/enabled/changed in Firefox normal mode to check if an extension, theme, option or hardware acceleration is causing issues. Disabling/enabling hardware acceleration, and some types of add-ons in normal mode may require a Firefox restart.

Started Firefox in Safe Mode. History was accurate for today's browsing. Restarted in normal mode and history was still accurate. I wonder if it is because I uninstalled Speed Dial yesterday. I am now using FVD Speed Dial. I also deleted all Speed Dial entries from prefs.js. Thank you for the reply.
